Great Styles on the Cheap? Try Consignment Shopping

If you’re like most women, you love to shop. Or, barring that, you at least love clothes! And why not? New, fashionable clothing makes us feel stylish and beautiful, and better about ourselves generally. Side note: how this phenomenon works, I’ll never know…but I see it every day!

Now, if you’ve got plenty of money and don’t mind spending a lot of it on new clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and other accessories, this post isn’t for you. The Fashion Attic is geared toward fashion-conscious women who like great styles but don’t want to break the bank to get them.

Inexpensive Women’s Clothing

Now, when I say inexpensive women’s clothing, I don’t mean CHEAP women’s clothing. We’re talking good quality, recognized brands here. This is where consignment shopping comes into play. We regularly see the newest fashions come into the store just because someone is ready to move on to a new style. Or perhaps the clothing no longer fits…or maybe a gal is just plain bored with her wardrobe and wants to hit the reboot button to get a fresh start!

Whatever the case, consignment shopping offers the unique opportunity to buy inexpensive women’s clothing and accessories. As I’ve noted before, consignment pricing typically runs about 1/3 of new retail. So a $60 top in a women’s retail store might be around $18-$22 at a consignment shop.

For those with limited budgets who still want to keep up with the latest fashion trends, consignment shopping for women’s clothing and accessories may just be the way to go! The difference between the new retail items and gently-used consignment clothing. They are: price. And that’s it. Assuming an article of clothing has been well cared for – and that’s pretty much all good consignment shops carry¬†– then you’ll get like-new clothing, handbags, shoes, and more for a fraction of the price.
